STAFF EXPERIENCE
How It Works
For Your Staff
Staff use their firm-managed laptop or desktop as their main working device. They sign in, open Microsoft 365, email, their practice management system, PDF tools and other approved applications, and work in the familiar environment they already know.
The difference is that the device is actively managed by Innessco. Security controls, updates, application configuration and remote management tools are applied consistently across your firm.
Applications
Managed PC is best suited to firms whose core applications operate over the internet, rather than relying on a local server or hosted desktop environment.
It is well suited to firms using cloud-based legal platforms such as LEAP, Actionstep, Clio, Evolve Go and similar systems.
Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 remains central to the environment. Email, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Office applications, security settings and user access are configured and managed around the way your firm works.
Where Microsoft 365 Business Premium is included, Innessco uses Microsoft’s security and device management tools to strengthen protection across users and devices.
Device management
Each Managed PC is configured with agreed security settings, application requirements, patching policies and remote management tools.
This reduces reliance on manual setup and helps keep devices consistent as staff join, leave or change roles.
Remote working
Managed PC suits firms where staff work from firm-owned laptops, whether they are in the office, at home, in court or travelling.
The device remains the primary working environment, while Innessco manages the controls required to support secure and reliable access.
MANAGED DEVICE PLATFORM
What Sits Behind a Managed PC
- Firm-managed Windows devices — Managed PCs are firm laptops or desktops that remain in the user’s hands, but are configured, secured, monitored and maintained by Innessco.
- Microsoft 365 management — Innessco manages Microsoft 365 settings, user access, mailbox configuration, security controls, licensing and administration for the agreed environment.
- Microsoft Intune — Intune is used to apply device policies, security settings, compliance rules and configuration standards across managed Windows devices.
- Action1 remote management — Action1 is used for remote monitoring, software deployment, patch management and support across Managed PCs.
- Security controls — Microsoft Defender, Huntress, MFA, Australia-only sign-in controls, security baselines and Secure Score management are applied to improve your security posture.
- Endpoint detection and response — Huntress provides threat monitoring and 24/7 human review of security alerts, with escalation and remediation where required.
- Patching and updates — Windows updates, Microsoft 365 Apps updates and approved application patching are managed where technically possible.
- Local administrator control — Routine local administrator rights can be removed or reduced, with software installation and approved configuration changes handled through managed support processes.
- Application deployment — Approved business applications can be deployed and configured consistently, reducing the need for manual installation by users or internal staff.
- Data and backup approach — Managed PC environments are designed so firm data is stored in approved systems such as the practice management system, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive or other agreed platforms, rather than relying on unmanaged local storage. Microsoft 365 backup can be included as part of the agreed service.
